Baked Oats (with chocolate)

This baked oats recipe is for one portion – yes, you get it all!  You can use the base mix as a syn free option or you can add to it.  I made a chocolate version but cherry/raspberry jam would make a Bakewell version and you could add fruit.  These are all syns you have to include but certainly as far as the chocolate is concerned it’s definitely worth it!

So you know what to add here’s some basic syn counts for the extras:
1 tablespoon Nutella – 4 syns
1 tablespoon standard jam – 2 syns
If you add fruit the syn count is different depending what you use but 100g cooked blueberries is 2 syns and cherries would be 2.5

I've put some ideas of flavour combinations at the bottom of the page and will keep adding to it as I try more!

Ingredients

40g oats (your heb)
2 tablespoons sweetner
2 eggs
1 Muller Light (I used vanilla with chocolate sprinkles)
1 teaspoon almond essence
1 tablespoon Nutella

Method

Preheat the oven to 180 or gas mark 6
Beat the eggs and almond essence together, add the oats and sweetner and mix well
Add the Muller light and stir through
Pour the mixture into your oven proof dish
Dollop the Nutella into the mix, I made six little blobs from mine but you can do one big one, whatever you like
Bake at 180 or Gas mark 6 for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and serve immediately.
